Venue: Baroda city (The cultural capital of Gujarat) approx. 500 Kms. North-West to Mumbai, INDIA
Host: Purva School of Bharatanatyam, Baroda, India in support with some other local bodies.

· Since ‘Purva School of Bharatanatyam’ is a non-profit making organization & is working solely for the upliftment of classical dance, we would not be able to provide very luxurious facilities during the festival for the participants. Still, the hosts will make it sure to provide simple but comfortable local hospitality.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Only those applications would be considered, who submit their applications on time along with all the materials required. {see below – application procedure}
The selection will be made on the basis of: choreography, theme, presentation style and other technical aspects. Also, as it is a classical festival, the performance has to be classical in form.
Applications with poor quality of VCD / DVD recording would not be taken into consideration
Results once declared will be final & would not be changed in any case.
The jury decision will be final & no discussions regarding the same will be entertained.
The results will be out latest by June 1st week. Each applicant will be informed by EMAIL, if they are selected or not.
Artists practicing any classical dance form, residing out side India are welcome to apply.
RULES:
All international expenses as well as expenses to reach to Baroda city (Airport/railway station) are on the part of the participants themselves. In no case, the festival is responsible for anything or any expense OUT SIDE BARODA CITY.
Each participant is expected to be present in Baroda city at least one day prior to their scheduled performance.
Selected participants would be expected to give their arrival & departure schedule & details at least 15 days before the festival date.
No request regarding increase in the duration of the performance will be encouraged.
Any artiste / Company / school / group would NOT be paid.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Each artiste wishing to apply for participation is expected to submit the following materials along with the application form:
Profile – Bio-data –Curriculum vitae {Of the director or choreographer)
Photographs
Information – brochure of the Dance school – company – group
Press Clippings – coverage – media reviews:
VCD/DVD of the performance (to be presented in the festival)
Synopsis of the performance
APPLICATIONS WITHOUT THE ABOVE MATERIALS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
KINDLY NOTE: MATERIALS ONCE SENT TO US, WILL NOT BE GIVEN BACK IN ANY CASE.
KINDLY ATTACH A SHEET CONTAINING PASSPORT NUMBERS OF ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE GROUP WITH THEIR FULL NAME.
You also need to send us the same application form in email.

FACILITIES:
All participants will be provided with the following facilities:
Lodging: Break fast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/coffee [Indian vegetarian ONLY]
Accommodation (may be in Dormitories/ guest houses/ hotels / shared accommodations)
Auditorium & Light, sound, technical assistance.
Local transportation & Local site scene & local shopping time
Visit to ‘Purva School of Bharatanatyam’
Certificate of participation.
Each selected participant will be given a letter of official invitation which you can produce for your VISA or for availing sponsorship from your governments or other sources.
Expenses made by participants for food or accommodation other than provided by the festival, is supposed to be borne by them selves.
Since rehearsals will not be possible on the stage, Purva School would be providing, if desired, its dance studio for the rehearsals.
Kindly note: All the above mentioned facilities will be provided by the festival during – 1st to 3rd September 2007 ONLY. Apart from that, if the artists/ group wish to stay more, before or after, he/she needs to pay for themselves, however on request, arrangements can be done for the same.
You can reach Baroda by Flight or Railway from Mumbai city/ Ahmedabad city / Delhi city / Kolkata city / Chennai city. However, if desired, you could be given further guidance on how to reach Baroda, on reaching any of the International airports in India.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF THE FESTIVAL:
To promote international exchange of knowledge and ideas in classical dance, in order to consolidate peace and friendship between people, deepen mutual understanding and increase creative co-operation between all people in the field of dance.
To educate the public specifically the younger generation in the classical dance.
To give a platform to Foreign artists practicing classical dance
To provide artists from abroad, an opportunity to explore Indian culture & tradition closely, especially in Baroda – the cultural capital of Gujarat.
